We had fun exploring seeing the animals but the overall experience was okay. It’s a smaller zoo than other ones we’ve visited. There were cute Halloween decorations around. Many of the food areas were closed even and the cafe is over priced. It was sorta depressing feeling with the lion habitat under construction and you can hear the lions. The otter habitat water looked low compared to when I first visit in 2022 (that experience was better) We rode the carousel and train with the combo wristband. The carousel attendant was amazing, We rode twice back to back then another two times after our train ride. She always had a smile on her face and she never made us get off to get in line, she just made sure we were staying on and recounted us. The young train attendants were blah, we rode three times back to back but they made us get off the second time just to get back in line and the crazy part, it wasn’t even busy. No long lines or no carts filled to capacity. Literally they had multiple empty carts so why we had to get off was beyond me. All in all, we still had fun. We can check that off our places to visit list...
Pretty large zoo with lots of places to go. The informational signs to educate attendees about animal trafficking was very nice, and each enclosure seemed like a good size. Staff members were helpful and well-informed, and the trick-or-treat experience was fun for the kids. My only quip is the food and drink, the staff didn’t know much about how to make either.
The Zoo was a beautiful oasis in the city. Every staff person I met was smiling. The education ambassadors were excited to share their knowledge. I was able to store my luggage with Member Services so I could visit the zoo on my way to the airport. The zoo has good directional signage and a map that actually matches the layout! Food stalls and restrooms are well-spaced along the routes. I had a hot dog that was out of this world delicious. The enclosures are well-maintained with elements designed to stimulate the animals' cognition. I visited earlier in the morning and most of the animals were out playing or eating. It was a great time to go!
The zoo was okay. It was decorated with a Halloween theme. There are no pandas. There were no lions because their habitat is under construction & won’t be finished until spring 2025. Quite a few animals were unavailable or”animal not in habitat”. Luckily, I was able to see the tiger. I don’t think I would go again.
Zoo’s are always a great place to spend your day & Atlanta zoo does not disappoint. Loved the elephants. They had such an amazing exhibit with tons of room for them to wander. The zoo did a great job trying to educate & impart knowledge of each animal with their descriptions & facts available to read as you viewed the animal. Zoo was very clean & we had a wonderful time.
