from reviews

The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in civil rights history. The park is located in the Sweet Auburn district, where Dr. King was born and raised. Visitors can tour his childhood home, see his final resting place, and visit the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he was a co-pastor with his father. The park also includes a museum that documents Dr. King's life and legacy, as well as the Civil Rights Walk of Fame, which honors other notable leaders in the civil rights movement.

Wow! The impact MLK had on us is truly captured here. We have read the stories, watched the documentaries, and know the history. I love how much detail is put in to the museum and fell like everyone should come get a glimpse of how far we truly have come as a nation and people. We are so grateful for everything he and everyone involved!

This was a great place to go and pay tribute to a great man. There is a small museum on site and you can walk down Auburn St to visit King's church, tomb and childhood home. Most of these places were closed for repairs unfortunately and we weren't able to go inside.

This place was awesome. We went to the visitor center, it was clean and well maintained. It was safe and secure. The park was nice. But the part that was the most impressive was the tomb of Mr and Mrs King, their final resting place is beautiful and peaceful. There is a quote written from the “I have a dream” speech written on the water falls by the reflecting pond around. When I read these words out loud, as if I was giving the speech myself, when those words departed my lips and crossed over the open water, something happened inside of me that I cannot explain. It’s as if the creator God of the universe was standing next to me and said, “that’s right!!” And it shook my soul and made all the hair on my arms stand up and I began to weep. Like I said. It’s hard to explain. But it was powerful! You should visit this place and read the words out loud for yourself.

I enjoyed everything about this self-guided tour. It bought so many emotion, ions, excitement and knowledge that I didn't know out of me if you are in the area this is a place you must not leave Atlanta Georgia without stopping to view. Honoring Dr. King and Mrs King this way was amazing. Ms King and her family did awesome by Dr. King and their family were self supporters when they say it takes a village. They were the village you wouldn't regret stopping by this historical site and sitting inside of Ebeneezer Baptist Church which is just across the street people don't second-guess it ,you'll regret it if you don't. I think that it is a great part of history that our children and grandchildren should know and will know if you visit this location. Make sure you plan enough time because you're gonna wanna have time to watch each and every 15 to 20 minute video on Dr. King speeches.

Came from California for a show. Saved two days to explore and this was one of options. We were out there for a good three hours. It was amazing. I knew some things but morning takes you to that realization until you visit this. It was emotional and just put so much into perspective. We found parking easily. Everything was free and informal. I did learn that everyone in Atlanta is so kind and all the workers and even the passerbys were extremely helpful. I strongly recommend doing this if you happen to go to Atlanta. It will change your whole life. Go to the church where you can actually hear Dr. King's sermons. They play a sermon and share some history. We went February of 2025 and it was beautiful. We walked in short sleeves and sun was out.
